That moment in a good sappy movie...
MOMMY: OH OH!
ADDIE: Ewww!
ELLIE: I only like it when they kiss just once, not when they eat each other's face other!

Addie Draws
I am loving how Addie draws things that I never would have thought a child would draw. With Ellie, it was always cute pictures of family or animals with an occasional monster or dragon tossed in for fun. Addie? She draws everyday life, though I'm sad to say I haven't been able to capture very many of them because she loves to give her drawings away as gifts. This one was a gift for Daddy. It's a football game.
And when she does draw something in the fantasy realm, her details are incredible. I would consider bringing my dragon to life (via felting) if I understood what was going on around his feet area. Hahaha.
This Valentine's Day monster is a strong contender for the next creature I create out of felt. Isn't he fantastic? Addie says if you're feeling sad, you just have to pick a heart off of the monster and it will cheer you up again.

2nd Grade Thank You Letters
Daddy gave Ellie's class a presentation about some of the projects he is working on. It included a brief description of some satellites as well as a demonstration of how blurry an object can be if you are looking at a pixelated image. I got a big kick out of the letters that Ellie's classmates wrote to him. I've posted images of some of them below. It's amazing the range of writing skills present in the same classroom, but allow yourself a good chuckle on some of the responses. It made my day.

Stinky Tunnels & Christmas Time!
Last weekend we took an impromptu trip up to Glenwood Springs. On the way up, the girls decided to hold their breath any time we went through a tunnel. Though this is normal behavior for kids to have, they added a bit more character to the reasons why. Apparently tunnels are stinky. Now you know. We spent the day in the hot springs (the girls got a kick out of swimming in the middle of winter time) and on the rides. Though it wasn't in the original plan, we did a mini Christmas celebration because the lights were still up, and then headed back to the pool to swim at night. All in all, it was a random yet very pleasant change from the norm.
