I need your vote! Pah-lease!!!????
I'm thinking I still really want a tattoo and I want it to symbolize my children, and aspen leaves might just be the way to go. One green for Ellie born in the spring and one yellow for Addie born in the fall. The fact that it's an aspen leaf is great because they turn in September (when Michael and I got married) so it kind of ties all three things into one image.
So... Here are my two favorites at this point in time (neither of which is perfect - these are just random pictures I found online)...
Option A: I like the yin-yang feel of the design:
Option B: I like how the yellow leaf could be smaller than the green one:
Tell me what you think! Which one do you like? If you want to post a comment anonymously, that's fine too. I'm just curious what others think.

So far I have one vote for the Option A orientation, though with more detail similar to the leaves in Option B.
I like Option B better.

Another vote for Option A. This is going to become one of those things where the outcome is even, isn't it? Like it's going to be MY decision. lol.
Leaves from B with orientation A.
You want to symbolize the girls as being equal, yet opposite (which is how you describe them to me), so the yin-yang approach with equal size leaves (option A) would be the best from a purely symbolic standpoint. But I'll also get on my soap box and say that I don't like tatoos. What can I say ... I'm a skin-man. If you've got nice skin, the last thing you should be doing is permanently drawing on it :)
Thanks for the compliment, John. And for your opinion, even if I had to drag it out of you. lol.
Having a few tattoos myself, here's my honest opinion. I like the idea you have, but I don't care for the images themselves. I highly recommend taking several ideas to the tattoo artist and having them draw something. They will likely come up with something beautiful...afterall they are an artist!
Also, yellow won't traslate well on a tattoo because of skin color. I recommend going with a golden orange/red combo. The amount of detail you can include in the tattoo will depend on the size and placement of the tattoo, so be aware of that.
I like this image: http://www.taggallery.net/artist_artwork.php?memberno=57&artworkno=853
Another idea is to consider a pencil drawing without filling in the color. This will simplify it quite a bit...just be careful with a fully colored in leaf looking like a blob of color on you.
You've mentioned cherry blossoms before too. Maybe a way to incorporate fall+cherry blossoms? Again a tattoo artist may have a very beautiful way to do that.
Thanks, Salina, I'll take your comments into consideration! I agree with the picture you found - I like it!
I hadn't thought of the idea of a pencil drawing, but I do like that idea too.
I will try to collect a bunch of examples like you said and see where the tattoo artist takes it. That's *IF* I actually go through with it. lol.
Really like option B over option A. B I think not only looks a bit better, but I like the idea of the two sizes/colors.
I agree with Heidi-- leaves of B with A orientation. But Salina is right, the artist may have some amazing way of bringing it all together. You go!
