I donate to the Alzheimer's association every year. It was a charity that my sorority raised money for and I used to work at a retirement home with Alzheimer's afflicted residents. Then Chris' grandfather passed away a few years ago from complications caused by Alzheimer's.
Our motorcyle club just did a charity ride last weekend. It's called Ride Across MD, it's the same time every year. It's sponsored by Dick Gelfman from WJZ (he's a retired reporter). Our Team raised $10k and at the end of the weekend event a total of $200k was donated to the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. this is our 2nd year and it was awesome!
Thanks, guys! I have really enjoyed finding out what charities everyone likes. I will keep these two in mind when I am done matching my friends' donations and I know better how much money I have left over.
